15-year-old girl allegedly raped at gunpoint by juvenile in Amethi: Police
A 15-year-old girl was allegedly raped at gunpoint by a juvenile inside her house in a village in Uttar Pradesh's Amethi, police said on Tuesday.
An FIR has been registered in connection with the incident, while efforts are underway to trace the 17-and-a-half-year-old accused, who has been absconding since the alleged crime, they said.
According to the complaint filed by the girl's mother on October 5, the incident took place around 1.30 am on October 3.
The accused, who is from the same village, allegedly entered the girl's house and raped her at gunpoint. Police said the girl's mother rushed to the spot after hearing her daughter's cries, following which the accused allegedly threatened to kill her if she informed anyone about the incident.
Ramganj SHO Ram Raj Kushwaha said the FIR was registered on the basis of the mother's complaint and the girl was sent for a medical examination.
Police teams have been deployed to locate and apprehend the accused, and further legal action is underway, the SHO said. (with inputs from PTI)
