Bottas cycles 320 km from Sepang to Singapore ahead of F1 race

Formula 1 driver Valtteri Bottas traded the usual flight between race venues for a more arduous journey, cycling more than 320 kilometres (200 miles) from Sepang to Singapore ahead of this weekend's Grand Prix.
The 37-year-old Cadillac driver set off for Singapore in the week between the two races after failing to finish the Bahrain Grand Prix, which was held at Malaysia's Sepang circuit last Sunday.
While the other drivers and teams prepared to fly to Singapore, Bottas took to the road, opting for a route that included gravel roads.
"Yea I'm riding to Singapore... on the gravel roads less travelled," Bottas posted on X.
The ride comes after another difficult weekend for Bottas, who has yet to score a championship point for Cadillac this season. His best finish so far has been 13th at the Chinese Grand Prix in March.
He failed to finish the race at Sepang after going off the track while gambling on slick tires in damp conditions. It was his eighth DNF of the season.
Bottas has raced in Formula 1 since 2013 and has 10 victories and 67 podium finishes in his career.
The Sepang race was won by Max Verstappen, who ended a long wait for another victory.
The Bahrain-branded Grand Prix was moved to Malaysia because of the war in Iran, marking Formula 1's first race at the Sepang circuit since 2017.
