Gurugram man allegedly rams Thar into cab carrying two friends

A man allegedly rammed his Mahindra Thar SUV into a cab carrying two of his friends multiple times in Gurugram’s Sector 89 late Friday night, leaving the three occupants shaken but without serious injuries, police said.
The incident came to light after a video of the alleged attack surfaced on social media, prompting the Kherki Daula police to begin an investigation.
According to eyewitness accounts, four young men had arrived in Sector 89 in a Delhi-registered Thar. An argument reportedly broke out among them, following which two of the men left the SUV and booked a Rapido cab to return home.
When the cab arrived and the two men boarded it, the man driving the Thar allegedly became angry and repeatedly rammed the SUV into the cab. Despite the cab driver asking him to stop, the alleged attack continued.
The impact triggered both front airbags of the cab and caused extensive damage to its front section. The driver and the two passengers, however, escaped serious injuries, police said.
Several passersby and local residents recorded the incident on their mobile phones, with footage later circulating widely on social media.
The cab driver subsequently approached the Kherki Daula police station and reported the incident. By the time police reached the spot, the alleged accused driver and his associate had fled.
A senior police officer said investigators have established that the Thar involved in the incident is registered in Delhi. Police are using its registration number to trace the vehicle’s owner and identify the youths involved.
The officer said efforts are underway to locate the accused and that arrests will follow once their identities are established.
