Welfare Minister Chamra Linda reviewed the progress of distribution of bicycles and scholarships among the students studying in schools through video conferencing with the Welfare Officers, Project Directors, ITDA and Divisional Deputy Directors of all the districts at the Kalyan Complex in Morhabadi on Tuesday.
The Minister expressed displeasure towards Ramgarh and Koderma districts in the matter of distribution of pre-matric scholarships. He strictly instructed the Welfare Officer of Ramgarh and Koderma districts to distribute the scholarship amount within the next three days. He said that action will be taken against those officers who will be negligent in the scholarship distribution matter. In case there is no improvement in the progress of scholarship distribution in Koderma and Ramgarh districts in the next three days, stop the salary of the concerned officials for the month of January 2025.
The Minister directed all the districts to settle all the pending scholarship payment cases related to pre-matric on priority by January 4. The officials of the Welfare Department should give top priority to public interest and public service. All those working under the welfare department should understand that they are doing social work. He said that the officials should find a way to solve the problem and not the problem.
Linda directed the officials to complete all the cases of post-matric scholarship distribution by the coming month of February 2025. He said that distribution of scholarship amount is an important task of the welfare department. Getting scholarship amount on time to the students helps them in preparing for academic courses and exams. He said that the state government is especially working to provide equal opportunities in the field of education to ST, SC students, so it is important that the scholarship amount should be provided to the students of all classes including ST, SC within the stipulated time limit.
Linda directed to complete the work of cycle distribution by the end of January 2025. The purpose of the cycle scheme is to prevent drop out from class-08 (class eight). Therefore, the distribution of cycles should be done on time. Complete all the necessary procedures so that children of class 8 (class eight) get bicycles along with enrollment. He told the officials to keep a work plan ready to provide bicycles to the students as soon as the session starts in the coming days. It should be the priority of the department that there should be no delay in the distribution of bicycles under any circumstances.
