The Maha Kumbh 2025 will begin on January 13 in Prayagraj under Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s leadership, with preparations now in the final stages. This year, special efforts are being made to set a new benchmark for cleanliness at the event.

The focus is not only on providing pilgrims with a clean and hygienic experience but also ensuring the well-being of sanitation workers. To support these workers, sanitation colonies are being set up, and primary schools opened for their children.

In a review meeting on Tuesday, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath emphasised the importance of cleanliness and gave crucial directions regarding the welfare of sanitation staff.

He instructed officials to make proper arrangements for their accommodation, food, working hours and timely payment of wages during the event.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath stated that the 2019 Kumbh set a world record for cleanliness under his government’s leadership, and the goal for the 2025 Maha Kumbh is to further improve on that achievement. He emphasised that cleanliness and health should be the top priorities for the event.

Following his instructions, work has begun to remove all construction materials from the paths of pilgrims. The focus is also on removing debris, stones, and bricks from construction sites.

There are plans to make roads free of encroachments and consider setting up vending zones for street vendors. Regular cleaning of routes and proper waste disposal has been ordered. The aim is to ensure cleanliness not only in the Mela grounds but across the city.

The chief minister has given instructions to ensure the success of the Swachh Mahakumbh campaign by deploying sanitation workers before the fair and organising their accommodation and meals. He also emphasised keeping the bathing ghats and rivers completely clean.
