Chief Secretary Alka Tiwari has directed all the Deputy Commissioners of the state to give priority to infrastructure works and remove the obstacles coming in them at the district level itself. She said that projects get stopped due to small reasons. Its cost also increases unnecessarily. This causes loss of resources and the state. If a little extra attention is given, the problem will be solved at the district level itself.
The CS was reviewing the schemes of National Highway Authority of India, Railway Overbridge and State Road Construction Department in the state, which are obstructed due to reasons like compensation, land acquisition, forest clearance and law and order here on Tuesday.
Notably, the NHAI's schemes worth Rs 38,483 crores are ongoing in the State. At the same time, work on many railway overbridges is also going on. Work is also going on for the expansion and widening of thousands of kilometers of state government roads. During the review, it was told that due to the delay in completion of the project, the state is facing difficulty in getting new road construction schemes from the Center. The biggest obstacle in road construction in the state is land acquisition, compensation, forest clearance and dispute.
When the CS sought the views of the concerned DCs in this regard during the review, almost everyone said that the obstacles in the construction would be removed within a few days and months. The CS clarified that the time limit set by the DCs for problem resolution should be followed to the fullest extent of their ability. Remove the obstruction on time. The time fixed for problem resolution will not be extended.
The CS said that all DCs should give priority to infrastructure works at the district level and continuously monitor them. Take action against those who create unnecessary obstacles. Complete the plan on time by constantly coordinating with all departments. Remove obstacles in infrastructure works immediately. No work should stop due to law and order, forest clearance and compensation payment.
During the review, Principal Secretary of Road Construction Department Sunil Kumar, Secretary of Revenue, Registration and Land Reforms Department Chandrashekhar, along with officials of NHAI, Forest Department etc. were also present. All the DCs were connected through video conferencing.
