CM gifts Rs 1415.44 Cr to 56,61,791 'Maiyans' of Jharkhand

Tuesday, 07 January 2025 | PNS | Ranchi

Chief Minister Hemant Soren today reiterated his resolve to take the state to new heights by transferring Rs 1415 crore 44 lakh 77 thousand to the bank accounts of 56 lakh 61 thousand 791 women beneficiaries through DBT at the state level function of Jharkhand Mukhyamantri Mainiyaan Samman Yojana (JMMSY) organized at the training ground in Namkum, Ranchi.

Addressing the function, the CM said to the women that we had promised you that under the JMMSY, the honorarium of one thousand rupees every month will be increased to Rs 2500 from the month of December, and we are fulfilling it. Today, Rs 2500 has been transferred to the bank accounts of all of you as the first installment of the increased amount. I am hopeful that now all of you will play your part in the development of this state with your full capacity and strength.

The CM said that the strength, with which our government has brought the concept of Mukhyamantri Mainiyaan Samman Yojana to the ground in the direction of empowering half the population is being discussed all over the country. Many other states are moving towards adopting this ambitious scheme of ours as a role model. I can say with full confidence that this scheme will prove to be decisive in taking women forward.

The CM said that the blessings and respect you have given us have given us a new energy and strength. Our government is committed to make women self-reliant along with giving them dignity, self-respect and rights. We have implemented this scheme with the aim of fulfilling the dream of moving forward that you have seen. With this step of ours, you will strengthen the state and the country along with your family.

He said that until men and women do not walk together, this state and the country will not move forward. But, it is a matter of regret that many policies, programs and schemes have been made in this country, yet half the population is still far away from development. Women did not get that strength, through which they could become a part of the development of the state and the country along with themselves and their families. Keeping this in mind, we resolved to move women forward. In this direction, we have taken a step forward through the JMMSY.

The CM said that through the JMMSY, our government has given you such a system, which will have the full capacity to fulfill your dreams. With this money, you will not only be able to fulfill your needs, but through it you will also get a chance to increase your income along with better education of your children. This is not just a scheme but a powerful medium to make you self-reliant and self-sufficient.

The CM said that women run the household and also work. In such a situation, no one can understand the importance of money better than them. This is the reason why our government is also entrusting the responsibility of taking the state forward to the women who run the household. Now efforts are being made to turn the wheel of the state's economy through women, because half of the population will play an important role in putting this state in the category of developed states.

The CM said that the government has taken a big step to empower the sisters and daughters of this state. Our government will also visit villages and rural areas from time to time and try to know what activities are being conducted by you for economic prosperity. You will get full support from the government in this direction in future as well.

The CM said that other states are getting illuminated through the resources of this state. But, for years, the people here are forced to live a life of deprivation. Problems like backwardness, poverty, unemployment, exploitation, malnutrition and migration still remain the biggest challenge in the development of this state. In the eyes of the policy makers here, this state has always remained on the margins. But, now this will not work. We will free this state from backwardness and poverty and will put it in the category of leading states.

The CM said that the attitude of banks towards Jharkhand is not very good. The money deposited by the poor people here in the banks is used somewhere else. The people here do not get the help they should get from the banks, but now the banks will have to change their attitude and they will have to work according to the needs of this state and its people.

In this ceremony, Ministers Radha Krishna Kishore, Chamra Linda, Sanjay Prasad Yadav, Irfan Ansari, Hafizul Hasan, Deepika Pandey Singh, Yogendra Prasad, Sudivya Kumar, Shilpi Neha Tirkey, MP Joba Manjhi, Rajya Sabha MP Mahua Maji, all MLAs, other dignitaries, senior officers of the state government, and women beneficiaries of JMMSY, who arrived in large numbers from all districts, were present.
