Govt Committed to the Welfare of the Poor: Khattar
Chandigarh: Union Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Sunday said that the Government is focused on ensuring the well-being of the poor at both the national and state levels, with adequate funds allocated for development. Khattar, addressing a gathering at Chulkana village in Panipat, announced the launch of the Gaon Darshan Yatra in 2025, beginning with blessings from Shyam Baba at the village's temple. Khattar revealed plans to build a gymnasium and yogashala in Chulkana within six months, pending two acres of land from the Gram Panchayat. He also highlighted that 400 jobs had been provided to locals, emphasizing self-employment for 300 poor families through youth empowerment. Khattar lauded Prime Minister Modi's vision for a society rooted in goodness and assured that India's global standing has never been stronger under his leadership.
PGIMER set to mark beginning of New Academic Session on Jan 7
Chandigarh: PGIMER Chandigarh is poised to celebrate the commencement of its New Academic Session with a grand inauguration ceremony scheduled for January 7, 2025, at the Bhargava Auditorium within the institute. Haryana Minister addresses public grievances in Janta Darbar
Faridabad: Haryana Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Minister Rajesh Nagar on Sunday redressed the people’s grievances at ‘Janta Darbar’. He resolved nearly a dozen issues on the spot and directed officers to address everyday complaints at their level promptly. During the Janta Darbar, people of a residential colony in Sector 77 raised complaints against a private builder alleging that despite charging huge amounts, builder had not yet constructed the promised clubhouse. They requested the Minister to ensure their money is refunded with interest. The Minister emphasized that his primary goal is to address public grievances.
PGI conducts blood donation camp at Sec-17 Plaza, and Kharar
Chandigarh: PGIMER’s Department of Transfusion Medicine on Sunday conducted two blood donation camps under the guidance of Prof RR Sharma. First camp was organized at Parshuram Bhawan in Kharar in association with Friends Forever Welfare Society and collected 101 blood units, and second was at Plaza Sector 17, Chandigarh, in association with Sowing Nobility Foundation in which 55 blood units were collected. PGIMER’s Department of Transfusion Medicine expressed gratitude to all its volunteer donors who came forward to donate on the occasion. The donated blood and components help in catering the needs of the critically ill patients in the institute, said the PGI officer in a statement.
Providing quality education to students is Govt’s priority: Gangwa

Recruitment for Agniveer to be held in Ambala Cantt from Feb 4-11
Chandigarh: The second phase of the Agniveer recruitment process, physical and medical, will be conducted from February 4 to 8, 2025, at the Kharga Sports Stadium, Ambala Cantt. Male candidates from Haryana’s Ambala, Kaithal, Kurukshetra, Karnal, Yamunanagar, Panchkula, and Chandigarh, who were shortlisted in the first phase’s computer based online common examination are eligible to participate. Spokesperson said that admit cards for shortlisted candidates were issued on December 20, 2024, and the same can be downloaded from their login ID on the official Indian Army website — www.joinindianarmy.nic.in. Similarly, the second phase of recruitment for Agniveer Women (Military Police) from Delhi, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, and Chandigarh will take place at the same venue on February 9 and 10, 2025. Admit cards for these candidates will be issued soon.
Govt lost revenue worth crores of rupees due to illegal mining: Hooda
Chandigarh: Haryana’s former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda on Sunday alleged that the mining scam carried out under the current Government runs into thousands of crores as new revelations are being made one after the other in the illegal mining scam. The State Government has lost revenue worth more than Rs 20,000 crore, he added. Talking to reporters, Hooda said that media reports and FIRs have revealed that thousands of tonnes of stones have been illegally extracted from the Aravali hills in Nuh. Overall, the state's revenue has been hit by about Rs 20,000 crores through this. Besides the revenue loss to the state, the scam also had a massive environmental impact. Despite this, the Government is silent on the whole matter, because this game is being played with the connivance of the government, he alleged.
