The Mahakumbh 2025, a monumental celebration of spirituality and culture, has garnered unprecedented global attention even before its commencement. The event’s official website, https://kumbh.gov.in/, has emerged as the primary source of information for millions, connecting devotees worldwide to the essence of this grand festival.

Since its launch on October 6, 2024, by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the website has recorded over 33 lakh visitors from 183 countries and 6,200 cities as of January 4, reflecting its universal appeal.

“Through this website, devotees can seamlessly access details about the Mahakumbh, including its traditions, spiritual significance, major attractions, and travel options,” said Sripati Tripathi, a member of the Government’s PR team monitoring the website. “We have designed it to ensure a smooth digital experience for millions of users, whether they are planning their visit or simply exploring the event’s essence.” The portal offers a wide range of information about the traditions, rituals, and spiritual significance of the Kumbh. It explains the historical and cultural essence of the event, making it easier for devotees to immerse themselves in the spiritual journey. Key bathing dates such as Makar Sankranti, Mauni Amavasya, and Basant Panchami are highlighted, drawing special interest as they are expected to attract the largest crowds.

Additionally, the website provides extensive travel and accommodation details. Visitors can explore transportation options, hotel availability, and eco-friendly tent city accommodations, catering to various budgets and preferences. The portal also outlines important guidelines for devotees, ensuring a safe and fulfilling experience. A media gallery showcases visuals and videos of past Kumbh celebrations, offering a glimpse into the grandeur of the event. Furthermore, the website features regular updates about Prayagraj’s infrastructure and tourist-friendly developments, underlining the city’s transformation into a global pilgrimage hub.

For international visitors, the website serves as an invaluable resource for understanding the essence of India’s Sanatan heritage. Emily Johnson, a yoga enthusiast from the United States, shared, “The website made it easy for me to understand the traditions and plan my trip.

It’s fascinating how modern technology is preserving ancient practices.” For Indian devotees like Rajesh Kumar, a businessman from Varanasi, the portal has simplified the experience. “It has everything I need, from key dates to booking accommodations. It is all in one place,” he remarked.

Website analytics reveal that India leads in user traffic, followed by countries like the United States, Britain, Canada, and Germany. The surge in interest underscores Prayagraj’s growing global appeal as a pilgrimage destination. Visitors are actively engaging with the content, exploring the event’s spiritual significance while learning about the logistical aspects.

A closer look at data highlights how users interact with the website. A significant portion of visitors are accessing travel and accommodation details, while others focus on key bathing dates, spiritual content, and visuals of past events. The increasing traffic demonstrates the success of the Uttar Pradesh government’s vision of making Mahakumbh 2025 a “Digital Mahakumbh,” blending ancient tradition with modern technology.

“The Mahakumbh 2025 website is not just a portal but a gateway to a profound spiritual journey.

By making the event accessible to millions across the globe, it ensures that the legacy of the Kumbh resonates far beyond India’s borders, uniting humanity in a shared celebration of spirituality and culture,” Shishir Singh,  Government spokesman said.
