BJP State President and former Chief Minister Babulal Marandi, while advising the Chief Minister of the state, Hemant Soren, has also expressed concern over the socio-economic condition of the primitive tribes of the state, especially the Pahadia community residing in the Santhal Pargana region.
Marandi wrote on social media that the economic and social condition of the primitive tribes of Jharkhand, especially the Pahadia community, is not hidden from anyone. Even today this community is far away from the mainstream of development and is deprived of basic amenities. There is neither proper access to roads for commuting to their villages nor do they get the benefit of health services.
The BJP Chief alleged that there is also a severe lack of basic facilities like quality education and drinking water along with serious diseases like malnutrition, anemia, malaria have become a part of their lives.
Marandi said that the benefits of the schemes made for the upliftment of the Pahadia community are also mostly grabbed by middlemen. He alleges that seeing the pathetic condition of the Pahadia community in his frequent visits to these hilly areas, it is clear that their condition is very worrying.
He said that even after 75 years of independence, such a situation of primitive tribal society is a matter of concern for the state.
Marandi requested the Chief Minister to form a special committee for the overall upliftment of primitive tribes of Jharkhand, especially the Pahadia society. A concrete action plan of one year should be prepared on the basis of the survey and recommendations made by the committee, so that their problems can be permanently resolved. He said that he has full faith that the Chief Minister will take a decision on this important issue in the next cabinet and form a special committee and send it to the villages of Pahadia tribe to see the ground reality and will become a part of virtue by trying to bring positive change in their lives.
