The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Patna, in collaboration with Absolute Gramya Private Limited, successfully hosted the workshop titled "Empowering Compatible Rural Governance, Health, and Skilling through Developing E-Panchayat" here on Monday.
The event marked a significant milestone for rural empowerment in Madhya Pradesh.
Prof. TN Singh, Director of IIT Patna and Chairman of the Foundation for Innovators in Science and Technology (FIST), followed with remarks on the developmental role of FIST and IIT Patna in advancing rural governance through technology.
Prof Singh remarked, “IIT Patna, through its collaboration with FIST, is committed to fostering innovative solutions for rural governance. The E-Panchayat initiative is a prime example of how technology can bridge gaps in governance and bring about meaningful change. We are excited to support this endeavour and work towards a more inclusive and efficient governance model.”
The workshop aimed to enhance rural governance, healthcare, and skill development through the E-Panchayat system. The government’s commitment to digital transformation in rural governance is already in place.
The E-Panchayat system is a cornerstone of our vision for modernizing rural administration. By integrating digital technology, we are making governance more transparent, efficient, and accessible. This initiative will not only enhance the delivery of public services but also empower rural communities to participate more actively in their own development.
The session began with a welcome address by Dr. Pankaj Shukla, CMD of Absolute Gramya, who outlined the event’s objectives and the importance of the E-Panchayat initiative stated, “The E-Panchayat system represents a transformative leap towards modernizing rural governance. By leveraging technology, we are not only streamlining administrative processes but also empowering communities with better access to essential services. Our goal is to create a robust, efficient system that can significantly uplift rural areas and drive sustainable development.”
The workshop featured a detailed technical briefing on the development of the E-Panchayat system, offering attendees in-depth insights into its implementation. A key highlight was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between FIST, IIT Patna, and Absolute Gramya Private Limited, formalizing their commitment to advancing the E-Panchayat initiative. The event included two focused sessions: Session I addressed the practical applications of E-Panchayat, while Session II concentrated on strategic planning and roadmap development.
The workshop also marked the beginning of Absolute Gramya’s ambitious plan to establish an E-Panchayat network across Madhya Pradesh, fostering a renewed sense of purpose and collaboration among all stakeholders. This initiative is set to usher in a new era of modernized rural governance and enhanced community development.
