Health Minister Dr Irfan Ansari today inspected the Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences and Hospital and said that the condition of Jharkhand's largest government hospital is very bad. During the inspection, the Minister found many closed rooms and faulty machines in the hospital. He reprimanded the hospital management and instructed to open these rooms and use the machines.
The Minister saw that the floors are broken in many places in the hospital and there are not enough beds available for the patients. He expressed deep displeasure over the situation.
Dr Irfan Ansari said that the Chief Minister has ordered to take several steps to improve RIMS. Under this, old equipment will be replaced, the number of beds in the emergency will be increased and the central lab will be started soon.
Dr Ansari said that RIMS is not just a hospital but it is a lifeline, where sick people from all over the state come for treatment with great hope. Mostly poor people come to RIMS for treatment, so the Director should take care that they do not face any kind of problem.
He said that the state government is dedicated to serving the people of Jharkhand and the role of the health department is very important in this. While inspecting the wards he also talked to many patients and took their feedback on the treatment and facilities being provided in RIMS.
Health Department Secretary Ajoy Kumar Singh informed that at present there are only 40 beds in the emergency of RIMS, which will be increased to 80. He said that this work will be completed in the next 2 months.
In this regard, the RIMS director has admitted that patients face problems due to lack of beds in the hospital. He said that he will follow the instructions of the minister. Also, he will make every possible effort to improve the hospital.
