The Gas Authority of India Ltd (GAIL) on Wednesday provided a financial aid of Rs 25 lakh to ensure the availability of safe drinking water in 21 rural areas of Durg district.
GAIL General Manager Najeeb Qureshi presented a cheque to the administration as the first installment of a Rs 50 lakh project that will provide drinking water in schools, hospitals and other buildings.
GAIL is playing a key role in the economic development of many states. Major districts and cities of the state are being connected by trunk lines. This will increase the reach of natural gas for industrial use and domestic consumption, an official communiqué said.
