CyberPeace Founder Vineet Kumar delivers keynote address at Bangladesh Cyber Security Summit 2024

In an era marked by escalating cyber threats, the inaugural Bangladesh Cyber Security Summit 2024, themed "Cyber Resilience for Bangladesh," hosted a monumental gathering of policymakers, cybersecurity authorities, policy-makers, and tech visionaries. Major Vineet Kumar, Founder and Global President, CyberPeace was a Keynote speaker where he highlighted the strategies for a Cyber Resilient Bangladesh, fortified cyber cooperation between Bangladesh and India, celebrated historical ties, and opened dialogues on tackling the complexities of Cybersecurity.

In the spirit of the summit, Chief guest Zunaid Ahmed Palak, MP, State Minister, Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications, and Information Technology, Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh, highlighted the significant steps taken by the Government in Cybersecurity enhancing capacity, efficiency, and awareness and the need for Cybersecurity startups in Bangladesh. Ensuring cybersecurity is one of the most important issues in the world right now.

The conference explores various cybersecurity issues and opportunities in Bangladesh and fosters collaboration and constructive dialogue between government and private organizations, industry, cybersecurity experts and sponsors who are investing in Bangladesh’s digital future. Chief Guest, Zunaid Ahmed Palak, MP, State Minister for the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications, and Information Technology of the Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh, Special Guest Md. Abul Kalam Azad, MP, Vice Chairman of the IDEA Foundation and Co-Chairman of Smart Bangladesh Network, brought forth his extensive expertise in governance and digital policy, Tim Nurul Kabir, Member of the Global Advisory Council, CyberPeace and Coordinator for CyberPeace activities in Bangladesh, A.S.M. Shamim Reza, Chief Technology Officer, Pipeline Inc; Habibullah N Karim, Founder & CEO, Technohaven Company Limited; and Anwar S. Kazi, CISA, CISSP, SVP & Director, Corporate Information, Security, KCorp, USA was also present.

The summit provided a platform for collaboration opportunities on Emerging tech space and cybersecurity, paving the way for multifaceted cooperative ventures. The event supported the vision of 'Smart Bangladesh-2041,' reinforcing the synergy between technological advancement and cybersecurity.

In his keynote address, Major Vineet, Founder and Global President of CyberPeace highlighted the abuse of Emerging Technologies and platforms and shared some critical strategies for the cyber-resilient Bangladesh. He also mentioned that Cybersecurity is a collective responsibility and everybody, including the netizens, has a role to play in a resilient cyberspace. He also mentioned that Bangladesh could be a potential Cybersecurity Hub for South Asia. Major Vineet and Mr. Tim Kabir also interacted with CyberPeace Corps Volunteers in Bangladesh. CyberPeace would soon start Capacity Building Programs in Bangladesh for MSME, Startups, Students and Vulnerable populations to make them resilient from tech-based abuses, cybercrimes, and cyber attacks.

Special Guest, Md. Abul Kalam Azad, MP, Vice Chairman, IDEA Foundation Co-Chairman, Smart Bangladesh Network Former Principal Secretary Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh, shared his vision: "We have achieved the vision of Digital Bangladesh. Now, our responsibility is to make this digital experience efficient and secure for all sectors. Cyber security is currently a challenge as well as an opportunity for Bangladesh. Our past experience shows that, as a nation, we have always faced challenges and made the best of opportunities. Today we are all gathered here to establish a secure Bangladesh in cyberspace. I believe that together we will be able to achieve our goals by ensuring innovative solutions and sustainable results”

The insights exchanged at this summit have set a benchmark for cyber diplomacy and regional alliances, ensuring that both Bangladesh and South Asia are poised to navigate the cyberspace challenges of tomorrow effectively.
