Chief Minister Mohan Yadav said that Shyama Prasad Mukherjee was a visionary who played a pivotal role in maintaining the country's unity and raising awareness about its challenges. He lauded Dr. Mukherjee for exposing the British conspiracy to divide the nation and for enlightening the people about the long-term tragic consequences of the Kashmir conflict for which the nation will always be grateful to him.

Yadav was addressing the inauguration programme of Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Auditorium built in the Vikas Bhawan of the Panchayat and Rural Development Department. He offered flowers on the portrait of Bharat Mata and garlanded the portrait of Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee. It may be noted that today is the birth anniversary of Dr. Mukherjee. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav planted saplings in his memory at Vikas Bhawan amidst the chanting of mantras and inaugurated the auditorium by unveiling the stone plaque. He also unveiled the portrait of Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee in the auditorium. The program was presided over by Panchayat and Rural Development and Labour Minister Prahlad Singh Patel.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that Dr. Mukherjee becoming Vice-Chancellor at the age of 33 reflects his talent. Even after he drew attention to the Kashmir problem, the stigma of Article 370 continued in the country and 40 thousand innocent people became victims of pain and violence. Ultimately, the determination of Prime Minister Narendra Modi freed the country from Article 370. He said that the development rate of the state is constantly on the rise. Progress in rural areas is clearly visible from the rural development activities and functioning of Panchayats. Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Auditorium built in Vikas Bhawan will prove useful for the Panchayat and Rural Development Department.

Panchayat and Rural Development Minister Prahlad Singh Patel said that many youngsters came forward to serve the country following Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee's demand to draw the country's attention to the problem of Kashmir and the removal of Article 370. His sacrifice in fact paved the way for the removal of Article 370.

The auditorium built in the Vikas Bhawan of the Panchayat and Rural Development Department has been named after Shyama Prasad Mukherjee. It has seating arrangements to accommodate 450 persons.
