Vande Bharat train to have stoppage at Gwalior

Thursday, 30 March 2023 | SR | Gwalior

Union Minister Scindia had written to Prime Minister Modi and Railway Minister Vaishnav, requesting them to have a stoppage for the proposed Vande Bhaart train between Rani Kamalapati Station and New Delhi.

As per reports, the railway ministry has agreed to Scindia’s demand and now the train will stop at Gwalior as well as Jhansi apart from Agra. Vande Bharat, Madhya Pradesh's first semi-high speed train is made with indigenous technology and is expected to replace the high speed Shatabdi Express.

Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia has thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Railway Minister Ashwani Vaishnav, describing it as a big gift of the Modi government.

Vande Bharat train is scheduled to start from Rani Kamlapati station (Bhopal) to New Delhi on April 1. In the first schedule released by the West Central Railway Zone, the train was expected to stop only at Agra.

Due to non-stoppage in Gwalior, the people of the region were disappointed. Then people strongly demanded from Scindia for the stoppage of this train.

Respecting the sentiments of the people, Civil Aviation Minister Scindia wrote a letter to Railway Minister Vaishnav and also discussed on the phone and urged the stoppage of the train.
