A truck killed three laborers in Bhopal's Govindpura Industrial Area late in the night of Friday two died on the spot while third laborer died during treatment on Saturday morning. The fourth laborer who was hit by the truck is seriously injured.
After the incident, the driver ran away with the truck. Ashoka Garden Police have started an investigation. The workers were returning home on foot after the bike ran out of petrol.
Govindpura police station in-charge Jitendra Pathak said that at 12.15 on Friday night, four laborers were returning after work from the factory located in the industrial area were hit by a truck.
Hasan Ansari (19), Amjad Chaudhary (22), Hasham Uddin (28) died in the accident. The condition of fourth injured Parvez Ansari is critical. He is admitted in Hamidia Hospital. At 11.30 pm on Friday night, they were returning to their homes from the factory.
All three bodies were sent to Jharkhand in an ambulance.
Hasan's brother-in-law Jawar Ansari said that Hasan had come to Bhopal only two months ago for work while returning home, Amjad's bike ran out of petrol. While pushing, Hasan and Amjad were going to the room located in Nizamuddin Colony. Colleagues Hasham and Parvez were also following behind. Meanwhile, a truck hit all four at a distance of about half a kilometer from the factory. All four are residents of Jharkhand.
Govindpur police station in-charge Pathak said that the truck that hit the workers is being searched on the basis of CCTV footage.
