Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that in Indian culture, marriage is not a compromise, but a sacred bond of souls. Daughters are goddesses for us, their marriage is a sacred sacrament. There was a time when daughters were prevented from coming into the world and marriage of daughters was considered a burden, today the situation has changed. Under the Mukhya Mantri Kanya Vivah/Nikah Yojana, newlyweds are getting help in running their households. The state government has made arrangements to give money in place of goods, so that the newlyweds can buy the necessary items according to their needs.
Chouhan was addressing the marriage ceremony of Mukhya Mantri Kanya Vivah Yojana being held in Janpad Panchayat Sidhi and Janpad Panchayat Baladi, district Khandwa from Samatva Bhavan CM's residence today.
Around 300 couples tied the nuptial knot today in both the districts. Chouhan blessed the daugthers and wished daughters to be happy, healthy and cheerful. Both the families joining with marriage should work to boost each other's pride and respect.
