BJP attacks Govt on religious conversion, cattle smuggling

Sunday, 31 December 2023 | PNS | Ranchi

BJP state general secretary and headquarters in-charge Dr. Pradeep Verma today made a big attack on the state government in a press conference regarding the increasing cases of love jihad, conversion and cow smuggling in the state.

Verma said that the Hemant government is engaged in promoting appeasement politics for vote bank. He said that ever since the Hemant government was formed, the internal law and order situation in the entire state is deteriorating.

Referring to the recent incident of religious conversion in Pakur district, he said that a large number of people of Pahadia tribe live in Pakur district, where people of a particular community are continuously trying to forcibly convert Pahadia daughters and men. Pahadia's daughter Rubika has also been murdered recently.

Discussing the incidents that happened with Rinoy Pahadia, a resident of Pakur district, Ramchandrapur, he said that recently a woman named Sayanara Khatun made a planned friendship with Rinoy Pahadia and proposed marriage as per Pahadia customs. After the acceptance of the marriage Sayanara Khatoon pressurized him for conversion, wrongly pressurized him for marriage and then also made him sign the affidavit.

He said that not only this, when Rinoy Pahadia protested, he was forced to eat the banned meat and was also beaten up. He said that when Rinoy complains about this in the police station, he is scolded and sent away. And when Rinoy complained to SP Pakur after that, no action was taken till date.

He said that it is clear from this that the elements carrying out religious conversions have the protection of the government.

Verma said that the identity and existence of tribals is linked to their religion and culture, but today, despite the existence of strict laws to stop forced conversions in the state, the Hemant government does not take any action.

He said that today the situation in the districts of Sahebganj, Pakur, etc. of Santhal Pargana is frightening. Tribal girls are being killed by people belonging to a particular community, by usurping their land and by making them second and third wives.

On the increasing morale of cow smugglers, Verma said that due to the state's border with West Bengal and Bangladesh, Santhal Pargana has become a corridor for cow smuggling. Cow smugglers have the protection of Hemant government. The rulers of the state have a share in the earnings of cow smuggling. The rulers are also involved in cow smuggling.

He said that Inspector Sandhya Topno was crushed to death by a truck by cow smugglers. The morale has increased so much that they are even suing the MP.

He said that ED has also taken cognizance of the case of cow smuggling like smuggling of stones and minerals in Santhal Pargana. Like the exposed corruption worth thousands of crores, big cases related to cow smuggling will also be exposed.

He demanded the ED to take cognizance of the cow smuggling cases of Podaiyahat, Saraiyahat, Pakur and Dumka along with the case registered at Mohanpur police station.
