Kangana links Aditya Thackeray to movie mafia, murderers of SSR, drug racket

Tuesday, 15 September 2020 | TN RAGHUNATHA | Mumbai

Maintaining that her earlier analogy of Mumbai  being “Pak-Occupied Kashmir” (POK) was “bang on”, outspoken actress Kangana Ranaut on Monday took Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray head-on once again, by linking the latter’s Minister-son Aaditya Thackeray to “movie mafia, murderers of SSR and its (sic) drug racket”.

Hours after she departed from Mumbai for her home state of Himachal Pradesh, Kangana virtually indulged in slander, when she tweeted: “Basic problem of Maharashtra CM is why I exposed movie mafia, murderers of SSR and its(sic) drug racket, who his beloved son Aaditya Thakeray hangs out with, this is my big crime so now they want to fix me, ok try let’s see who fixes who!!!”

Earlier in the day when she was about to fly out of Mumbai, Kangana came up with a nasty parting tweet: “With a heavy heart leaving Mumbai, the way I was terrorised all these days constant attacks and abuses hurled at me attempts to break my house after my work place, alert security with lethal weapons around me, must say my analogy about POK was bang on”.

Kangana -- who had arrived in Mumbai from her home town of Manali on Wednesday in the immediate wake of partial demolition of her Pali Hill bungalow by the Brihnanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) – hit out at the ruling Shiv Sena and Congress.

“It seems this time I was saved. There was a time when I felt a mother's touch in Mumbai, but today the situation is such that I am lucky to be alive. The moment Shiv Sena became Sonia Sena, the Mumbai administration became a terror,” she posted in Hindi, targeting the Sena as well as Congress president Sonia Gandhi, “ Kangana tweeted in Hindi while she was en route to her hometown.

Later in the evening, her team tweeted: “ Thank you Facebook free speech must be protected in a democracy, people need to be protected from Sonia Sena goons much like COVID -19 virus, thank you for being considerate, well done”.

Kangana has come under fire from various quarters for controversial statements comparing Mumbai to “Pak-Occupied Kashmir” and saying “it seems Mumbai is addicted to blood” and dubbing Bollywood as an 'Islam-dominated' film industry. There have also been protests erupted in Mumbai and other cities against the actress.

Through a series of tweets put out during and after the BMC workers demolished her office at Bandra’s Pali Hill area in north-west Mumbai on Wednesday last, Kangana had among other things come up with a “..... tujhe kya lagta hai?”  dare for Maharashtra chief minister Uddhav Thackeray, whom she had threatened to expose.

It may be recalled that referring to Uddhav Thackeray as “tujhe”, Kangana had on September 9 launched an all out war against the Maha Vikas Aghadi government.  “Uddhav Thackeray, tujhe kya lagta hai? (what do you think?)… colluded along with the film mafia, demolished my home and took revenge on me? My home was demolished today, your arrogance will crumble tomorrow,” Kangana had said in a video message on her arrival in Mumbai.

Meanwhile, Maharashtra Transport Minister and Shiv Sena leader Anil Parab said that Kangana had a “dual personality disorder” and she needed  to see a doctor and said if she felt Mumbai “is POK” she should shift out of Mumbai and live wherever she wanted.

Talking to media persons, Parab charged that “She clearly has a dual personality (disorder). She needs a doctor. Kangana is an actor and speaks according to the script given to her. Many such Kangana’s have come and gone”.

Alluding to her much-discussed visit to Maharashtra to Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari, Parab said: “Why should the Governor meet only Kangana? He should also meet the poor people whose illegal slums or roadside constructions are being demolished regularly”.

Parab had a dig at the Opposition BJP, wondering as to its “stomach was churning” when Kangana’s illegal structures were pulled down.

Stressing that the Shiv Sena would not tolerate if “she crosses limits and makes any wild statements about Mumbai or Maharashtra”, Parab said: “We are within our limits. They should also observe the limits. We will not keep quiet if she keeps talking ill about Mumbai. She has to decide what she wants to do. Maharashtra will decide what it has to do. If she thinks the city is like POK, then she must shift from here and live wherever she wants”.
