Family chased for 15 km after objecting to woman’s harassment in Nashik

A family outing in Maharashtra's Nashik district turned into a terrifying ordeal after a group of men allegedly harassed a woman and later chased the family for nearly 15 kilometres when they objected.
The incident took place near Bhavli Dam in Igatpuri, where the family of eight had gone to spend time over the weekend. According to police, the confrontation began after the family protested against the alleged harassment of one of the women.
As the family attempted to leave the area, the accused allegedly pursued their vehicle, armed with wooden sticks and iron rods. They reportedly intercepted the car multiple times, assaulted the family members, and damaged the vehicle. Despite the attack, the family managed to escape and later approached the police to file a complaint.
Police have registered a case and launched a joint search operation involving Nashik city and rural police teams to trace the accused. The incident has sparked concerns over the safety of tourists and women at popular tourist destinations, prompting calls for stronger security measures and stricter action against those responsible.
