Bangkok music bar fire death toll rises to 30; dozens still hospitalised

The death toll from the devastating fire at a music bar in Bangkok has risen to 30, making it one of Thailand's deadliest entertainment venue disasters in recent years. The blaze broke out late at night at the Rong Beer Na Ladprao music bar, trapping dozens of patrons inside. More than 70 people were injured, with at least 24 remaining in critical condition at hospitals across the city.
Preliminary investigations suggest the fire may have been caused by an electrical short circuit in a ceiling-mounted air conditioner. Authorities are also examining reports of blocked emergency exits, flammable interior materials, and possible violations of fire safety regulations that may have contributed to the high number of casualties. Police have questioned several witnesses, while the bar's management has pledged full cooperation with the investigation.
Bangkok Governor Chadchart Sittipunt has ordered citywide inspections of entertainment venues and promised stricter enforcement of fire safety rules. The tragedy has reignited concerns over building safety standards in Thailand, with officials vowing to identify those responsible and prevent similar incidents in the future.
