Bengal govt reshuffles IAS officers, appoints Onkar Singh Meena as Fire Dept principal secy

Kolkata, Sep 8 (PTI) The West Bengal government on Tuesday effected a minor bureaucratic reshuffle, appointing Onkar Singh Meena as principal secretary of the Fire and Emergency Services Department and giving Pawan Kadyan additional charge of the Finance Department.
Senior officer Surendra Gupta was appointed as principal secretary of the Personnel and Administrative Reforms (P&AR) Department, while Devi Prasad Karanam was made the secretary of the Agriculture Department, according to a notification.
Gupta, a 1997-batch IAS officer, was serving as the principal secretary of the Land and Land Reforms and Refugee Relief and Rehabilitation Department and as land reforms commissioner.
According to the notification issued by the Personnel and Administrative Reforms Department, Meena, a 1997-batch IAS officer and currently principal secretary of the Agriculture Department, was appointed as principal secretary of the Fire and Emergency Services Department, with immediate effect until further orders.
Kadyan, a 2012-batch IAS officer, has been appointed as senior special secretary in the Finance (Budget) Department. He will also hold additional charge of inspector general of Registration and commissioner of Stamp Revenue, director of Treasuries and Accounts, and director of Pension, Provident Fund and Group Insurance.
