Navi Mumbai man's murder solved after 11 months; wife and her partner arrested

Nearly a year after a Navi Mumbai man went missing, police have arrested his wife and her alleged partner for his murder. Investigators said the accused allegedly killed the 50-year-old man in August 2025, dismembered his body, and disposed of the remains in a forest to hide the crime. The case came to light after the victim's brother became suspicious over his prolonged disappearance and approached the police.
According to the investigation, the victim lived with his wife and two children in Airoli. Police alleged that the woman was involved in an extramarital relationship with a 30-year-old autorickshaw driver.
During questioning, both accused reportedly confessed to the crime and revealed how they disposed of the body in an attempt to avoid detection. The remains have since been recovered from the forest, and forensic examinations are underway.
Police have charged both accused with murder and destruction of evidence. Officials said the investigation is continuing to gather additional forensic and circumstantial evidence. The case has shocked residents and once again highlighted the importance of timely reporting and investigation in missing person cases.
