The much-anticipated annual cultural program of Pentecostal Assembly School (PAS) in Bokaro captivated audiences with a vibrant showcase of student talent and a tribute to India’s diverse cultural heritage. The event was graced by the Chief Guest, Birendra Kumar Tiwari, Director-In-Charge of Bokaro Steel Plant, and Anita Tiwari, President of Mahila Samiti, Bokaro, as Guest of Honour.
The program commenced with a heartfelt prayer led by the school's founders, Dr. D.N. Prasad and Rita Prasad, followed by a warm welcome from Principal Dr. Karuna Prasad. The evening embraced the theme "Dekho Apna Desh," highlighting the importance of preserving India's vast and colorful traditions.
In his keynote address, DIC Tiwari captivated the audience with his powerful message, urging students to "dream with open eyes" and view failure as a key to success. He emphasized the importance of perseverance, hard work, and the avoidance of shortcuts. Quoting former President Dr. Abdul Kalam, he reinforced the idea that true dreams are those which don’t let you sleep. Anita Tiwari also spoke on the significance of such community events, which foster unity and nurture the talents of young minds.
A total of 157 students from Classes VI to XII delivered breathtaking performances, starting with a melodious Swagat Geet and a graceful welcome dance. The students exhibited a dazzling array of folk dances from across India, including Bihu from Assam, Ghoomar from Rajasthan, and Jharkhandi, all celebrating the country’s cultural richness. Laughter echoed through the hall during the Hindi skit Chikitsa ka Chakkar, while the award-winning patriotic dance Akhand Bharat ignited a sense of national pride.
An unexpected challenge arose during the program when one side of the stage curtain got stuck. However, the quick action and teamwork of the ground staff lead by Admin. Daniel Prasad ensured the performance continued seamlessly, exemplifying the event’s theme of resilience and collaboration.
Along with the cultural showcase, academic excellence was honored. Shweta Kumar, Senior Secondary Section In-Charge, received the prestigious Guru Vashishta Best Teacher Award 2024 for her exceptional contribution to education. Forty students were awarded star medals for their stellar performance in the 2023-24 CBSE exams, while students from Grades 6 to 11 were recognized for their academic achievements.
The grand finale, a vibrant fusion of dance forms from various states, brought the evening to a spectacular close, celebrating the unity in diversity that defines India. The event concluded with the National Anthem, leaving everyone in attendance with a profound sense of pride and togetherness.
