Union Health Ministry delegation visits AIIMS Bhopal

In a significant and momentous visit, a high-ranking delegation from the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, led by Sudhansh Pant, IAS, Secretary, MoHFW, GOI, Dr. Jaideep Kumar Mishra, ICAS, Additional Secretary & Financial Advisor, MoHFW, GOI, and Ankita Mishra Bundela, IAS, Joint Secretary, PMSSY, MoHFW, GOI, graced the premises of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Bhopal today.

The delegation was warmly welcomed by Prof. Dr. Ajai Singh, Executive Director & CEO of AIIMS Bhopal, who extended his heartfelt greetings and guided them through the various facets of the institute.

During their visit, the esteemed guests had the opportunity to explore several crucial areas within the AIIMS Bhopal campus:

Patient-Centric Services: The delegation began their tour at the Outpatient Department (OPD) area, where they were introduced to the cutting-edge QR code facility for patient registration, streamlining and enhancing the patient experience.

Trauma and Emergency Care: Shri Sudhansh Pant and his team also visited the trauma and emergency care section, where they engaged with patients, understanding their needs, and assessed the facilities available to ensure prompt and efficient healthcare services.

Culinary Delights: The delegation took a moment to visit the RDA Canteen located within the OPD area. Furthermore, they inaugurated the 'Shree Anna Cafe,' dedicated to promoting millet-based food items, fostering healthier dietary choices.

Advancements in Forensic Sciences: In a significant development, Shri Sudhansh Pant inaugurated the Thin Layer Chromatography (TLC) facility at the Forensic Toxicology Laboratory situated in the mortuary area. This state-of-the-art facility will significantly contribute to forensic investigations.

Critical Care Expansion: The delegation also visited the construction site of the Critical Care Unit, where they observed ongoing developments aimed at improving critical care services for patients.

As a gesture of environmental consciousness, Shri Sudhansh Pant planted a tree on the AIIMS Bhopal campus, symbolizing the commitment to sustainability and green initiatives.

This visit by the esteemed representatives of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, marks a significant milestone in strengthening the partnership between AIIMS Bhopal and the central government in their shared mission of providing high-quality healthcare services to the nation.
