Leader of Opposition in the Delhi Assembly and convener of BJP's Chargesheet Committee Vijender Gupta on Friday alleged that the AAP government deliberately obstructs developmental works and discriminates against the assembly constituencies represented by BJP MLAs in Delhi.
“Over the past decade, the government has failed to allocate sufficient funds for these constituencies,” Gupta claimed, adding that the BJP issued eight charge sheets against the AAP government regarding developmental issues in constituencies represented by their MLAs.
He said, “With these eight, the Delhi BJP has now released charge sheets for a total of 33 constituencies. The constituencies covered in today’s charge sheets include Rohini, Vishwas Nagar, Laxmi Nagar, Gandhi Nagar, Badarpur, Karawal Nagar, Rohtas Nagar, and Ghonda. The tagline for the charge sheets is “Delhi sarkar kangal, Sheesh Mahal me Kejriwal”.”
Addressing the media, Gupta stated, “The AAP government discriminates against constituencies represented by BJP MLAs, failing to allocate sufficient funds for developmental works.” He said the charge sheets will be shared with residents of these constituencies to expose how the AAP government conspires to stall development in these areas.
He pointed out that in his Rohini constituency, the government forcibly renamed a school built for 2,500 children as a ‘School of Excellence’. “Currently, the school has only 200 students, and not a single child is from Rohini or its nearby areas,” he alleged.
He also accused the government of not allocating even a single rupee for local roads under the Chief Minister's Road Reconstruction Scheme, which has an annual provision of Rs1,000 crore. “In 2021, 2,000 CCTV cameras were purchased for Rohini constituency, but their installation was halted on Kejriwal’s orders.
