Vice Chancellor of Delhi University Professor Yogesh Singh said here on Friday teaching is the best profession on this earth while addressing newly appointed teachers in Delhi University(DU). He made these assertions while speaking at the inauguration of the Faculty Induction Program organized for newly appointed teachers in DU. A Faculty Induction Program on the topic “NEP 2020:
Pedagogical Imperatives for Higher Education” was organized by Delhi University on Friday.
On this occasion, Chairman of the National Steering Committee of the National Curriculum Framework Dr K Kasturirangan (former Chairman, ISRO and former Chairman, National Education Policy Committee) was present as the chief guest.
Dr K Kasturirangan said in his address that NEP 2020 is going to complete holistic education. Through this, every aspect of life can be enriched in a holistic manner.
The Vice Chancellor said in his presidential address that the number of new appointments of teachers in DU in a year is more than 3500. This is the largest number of appointments in any university in such a period. He said that they had a total of 5200 vacancies out of which 1700 are still left.
Addressing the newly appointed teachers, he said you have got the best opportunity of teaching in the prestigious university of the country, now you have to do the best for others. He said that the teacher only gives. Teacher gives values, culture, studies, happiness, positivity and originality.
