MSP PAYMENT OF MORE THAN RS 10000 CRORE MADE TO FARMERS IN THEIR BANK ACCOUNTS: KATARUCHAK
Chandigarh: With paddy arrivals in the mandis of the State yet to reach its peak, a payment of Rs. 10182.23 crore of Minimum Support Price has already been transferred directly into the accounts of nearly 2.75 lakh farmers. Lal Chand Kataruchak, Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Minister, stated that 17 districts in the State have transferred more than 100% payment of the due MSP, which is to be paid in 48 hours of purchase as per norms, 3 districts have disbursed more than 95% of due payment and remaining 3 districts have also made more than 85% of due payment. Mansa district, having transferred 125% of due payments as per 48 hours norms, is at the top. The Minister further said that State mandis are witnessing arrivals of nearly 5.3 Lakh MT of paddy in a day as of now, and almost all paddy arriving in a day gets purchased by the end of that day itself.
PUNJAB GOVT DECLARES LOCAL HOLIDAY IN AMRITSAR DISTRICT ON PRAKASH PURB OF GURU RAMDAS SAHIB
Chandigarh: The Punjab Government has declared a local holiday on October 30 (Monday) in Amritsar district on the auspicious occasion of the Prakash Purb of Sri Guru Ramdas Sahib ji. An official spokesperson of the State Government said that all the offices of the state government, boards/corporations and government educational institutions will remain closed on October 30, in the Amritsar district. A notification in this regard has been issued by the Personnel Department.
Pb Vigilance Bureau nabs ASI for taking Rs 17,000 bribe in his office
Chandigarh: The Punjab Vigilance Bureau (VB) on Wednesday apprehended Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) Raj Kumar, posted as a reader to DSP Ajnala, red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 17,000.
A spokesperson of the state VB said the arrest of the ASI was made following a complaint lodged by Mohan Singh, a resident of Ajnala town in Amritsar district. The complainant approached the VB and detailed his encounter with the accused police official, stating that ASI Raj Kumar called him in his office and told him that he had received a complaint against him alleging purchase of stolen ear pendants of gold. The complainant further alleged that the ASI asked him to pay Rs 50,000 as a bribe if he wanted to avoid a police case in this regard but the deal was struck at Rs 35,000. Feeling coerced and threatened, the complainant reluctantly agreed to pay this bribe to resolve the matter. Upon receiving this complaint, the VB Range Amritsar conducted a preliminary investigation and subsequently set up a trap operation in which ASI Raj Kumar was arrested red-handed while accepting bribe of Rs 17,000 from the complainant in his office, in the presence of two official witnesses.
Contingent of MCC enforcement vehicles flagged off in Chandigarh
Chandigarh: Taking another step towards curbing temporary encroachments from the city, Anup Gupta, city Mayor, on Wednesday flagged off a contingent of enforcement vehicles at MCC office premises in the presence of Anindita Mitra, Commissioner, Municipal Corporation Chandigarh and other councilors and officers of MCC. The addition of two utility vehicles, one boom recovery van and three dual cabin truck vehicles to enhance the removal of encroachments from the city markets and roadsides. Further, the body cameras shall ensure that in case of disputes, the recording can be checked to resolve the same. While speaking on the occasion, the Mayor said that the enforcement wing in MCC has been strengthened to keep the city encroachments free.
Maharishi Valmiki Pragat Diwas to be organised in Panchkula on Oct 28
Chandigarh: Haryana Public Health and Cooperative Minister Banwari Lal on Wednesday said that a state-level event will be organised in Panchkula's Indradhanush Auditorium on October 28 to commemorate Maharishi Valmiki Pragat Diwas. At this event, Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar will be given a special civilian felicitation for giving reservations in promotion to class one and class two officers of the Scheduled Caste community. The Minister of Cooperation highlighted that the Chief Minister's decision to grant reservations in promotions to officers from Scheduled Caste society is a historic achievement, addressing a longstanding demand of various employees and officers' associations, which no government has fulfilled since the formation of Haryana State.
About one lakh students to participate in block-level quiz competition on road safety in Hry
Chandigarh: In Haryana, the second phase of the block-level quiz competition on road safety is set to take place on October 27. A total of one lakh 972 students from across the state will participate, with oversight from senior officers of the State Police Department to ensure the successful conduct of the competition. Haryana Director General of Police Shatrujeet Kapur stated that the objective of this competition, scheduled for October 27, is to raise awareness about road safety among the general public, through children. He pointed out that in the 2016-17 competition, more than 44 lakh students participated, and got their names registered in the Limca Book of World Records. The competition has divided students into three categories: the first category includes students from classes 1 to 5, the second category encompasses students from classes 6 to 8, and the third category involves students from classes 9 to 12. Each category has received road safety study materials tailored to their age and educational level, ensuring they understand road safety facts effectively, he added.
Aadhar-based attendance at skill development training centres in Hry
Chandigarh: The Haryana government has made a decision to implement Aadhaar card-based attendance at all training centres throughout the state under the Haryana Skill Development Mission. This initiative comes after the successful launch of a pilot plan in the first phase at three training centres, said Director, Haryana Skill Development Mission Dr Vivek Aggarwal. In partnership with training collaborators across all districts of the state, short-term skill development training is organised at these centres, he added.
Hry CM approves 30 new works under Rural Augmentation programme
Chandigarh: Haryana Government decided to implement 30 new projects worth over Rs 19 crore under Rural Augmentation programme in 6 districts namely Yamuna Nagar, Faridabad, Nuh, Mahendergarh, Hisar and Jind which includes installation of 14 tubewells at various villages in District Yamuna Nagar, Faridabad, Mahendragarh & Nuh in order to strengthen water supply of the region. State Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Wednesday accorded administrative approval for the above said works to be implemented by the Public Health Engineering Department here in Chandigarh, said the government official spokesperson.
Admn issues licences for stalls to sale green crackers at 96 sites in Chandigarh
Chandigarh: The Chandigarh Administration on Wednesday issued licences for various stalls for sale of green crackers. This year the applications for allotment of stalls were taken online. National Informatics centre was entrusted to develop the software, said the UT official, adding that a total of 1814 applications were received online through the software for a total of 96 sites to be allotted. After scrutiny of the applications a computerized draw was conducted on Wednesday at Bal Bhawan sector 23. The draw was successfully conducted by using the same software as developed by NIC. Rupesh Kumar, additional Deputy Commissioner, Chandigarh said that the process of allotment was transparent and fair.
