The food & romance of Goa in NCR

The lovers of Goan food have something to cherish. Their favourite cuisines are nearer than ever before. Albert Pinto the authentic Goan food inspired by Portugese and Konkanese cusine recently opened in Greater Noida. It is the city’s first Goan-Portuguese cinematic dining restaurant, at Ithum Galleria Mall, Sector Alpha II. Launched by Bharat Hospitality, the new outlet promises to offer not just food, but a fully immersive cultural experience built around Goa’s rich culinary and colonial heritage.
Albert Pinto has been conceived as a narrative-led dining destination rather than a conventional restaurant. Guests are taken through a cinematic journey that blends layered interiors, heritage-inspired design, and a menu rooted in coastal nostalgia. From the moment diners step inside, the space evokes old-world Goa — where Portuguese influences met local traditions to create a cuisine that is both soulful and sophisticated.
The restaurant’s name is inspired by an intriguing tale. Albert Pinto, a don from Goa, was said to have been banished, prompting him to travel the world. Along the way, his passion for food led him to collect recipes from far and wide, which he later used in his eatery in Goa. While the story may not be historically verified, it serves as the charming inspiration behind the restaurant’s name.
The restaurant’s menu draws deeply from Goan and Goan-Portuguese culinary traditions, presenting time-honoured recipes with contemporary finesse. Dishes reflect the bold, tangy, and aromatic flavours that define Goa — seafood curries, spice-rich gravies, and slow-cooked preparations that have been passed down
generations but are now rarely found outside the state. Albert Pinto positions itself as a culinary custodian, reviving and reintroducing these flavours to a new audience. Bharat Hospitality sees Albert Pinto as part of a larger mission to preserve India’s diverse food traditions. “Albert Pinto reflects our larger purpose — protecting India’s culinary heritage while presenting it in a way that resonates with today’s audiences,” said founder Manish Khattar. “Bringing the first Goan-Portuguese dining experience to Greater Noida is about more than expansion; it’s about storytelling, craftsmanship, and keeping regional flavours relevant for the next generation,” he adds.
Founded in 2023, Bharat Hospitality has quickly carved a niche by blending food, design, and emotion into immersive restaurant concepts. Alongside Albert Pinto, its portfolio includes Baraamda, Shuddham, and Social Cues, each offering a distinct cultural narrative. The group is currently executing a `50-crore-plus expansion plan to scale up to more than 50 outlets across Delhi-NCR, Goa, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, and international markets such as Dubai and Thailand over the next three years.
