104th MES Day observed at Narangi Cantt
The 104th MES Day was celebrated with enthusiasm at HEADQUARTERS, Additional Director General North East Infrastructure (HQ ADG NEI), Narangi. Officers and staff of HQ ADG NEI, Chief Engineer (Air Force) Borjhar, GE (AF) Borjhar and GE (Projects) AF Digaru attended the event.
Prabhakar Mittal, IDSE, Additional Director General, North East Infrastructure, extended warm greetings to all officers, staff and their families on the occasion.
In his address, the ADG recalled the distinguished journey of the Military Engineer Services and appreciated the dedication and perseverance of its personnel in meeting the Armed Forces’ infrastructure requirements under challenging conditions in the North East.
He highlighted that the Armed Forces’ expectations of MES are continuously increasing and stressed the need for timely project completion, improved planning and execution, adoption of new technologies, and enhanced quality in both works and maintenance.
He emphasised standardisation of processes to improve efficiency and accountability, and called upon all personnel to discharge duties with the highest standards of integrity, professional ethics and devotion to duty.
On the occasion, Prabhakar Mittal presented commendation cards to deserving officers and staff in recognition of their devotion to duty.
He expressed confidence that with collective effort, MES will continue to uphold its proud legacy and meet future challenges.
Assam Terriers organise veterans’ rally in Silchar
An ex-servicemen rally under the ‘Atoot Bandhan’ initiative was organised by Assam Terriers at Silchar on 28 September, 2026 to strengthen the bond with veterans and address their welfare requirements.
The rally drew over 75 participants, including veer naris, ex-servicemen, and veterans from various arms and services.
Participants discussed welfare and pension-related issues concerning veterans and veer naris. Attendees interacted with representatives of the unit and were assisted on matters pertaining to pension, documentation, welfare schemes and entitlements. The event reaffirmed the Indian Army’s commitment towards welfare of its veterans and families, upholding the ethos of ‘Once a Soldier, Always a Soldier’.
