Preeti, Jaismine strike gold as India shines in Commonwealth Games boxing

Indian boxers Preeti Pawar and Jaismine Lamboria won gold medals in the women's 54kg and 57kg categories, respectively, at the Commonwealth Games on Saturday.
Preeti gave India its first boxing gold of the day with a dominant 5-0 unanimous decision over Canada's Scarlett Delgado in the women's 54kg final.
Shortly afterwards, reigning world champion Jaismine Lamboria defeated defending champion Michaela Walsh of Northern Ireland 5-0 to clinch the women's 57kg title.
Jaismine edged a closely contested opening round before taking control of the bout, landing cleaner punches to secure a unanimous verdict in the second round and seal victory.
Preeti dominated from the outset, with all five judges scoring the opening round 10-8 in her favour. The world No. 3 bantamweight maintained her momentum throughout the contest to comfortably claim the title.
The 22-year-old had advanced to the final after a commanding 5-0 semifinal win over Zambia's Catherine Mwape.
