Patna court extends Khan Sir's protection from arrest till June 30

A Patna court on Saturday extended educator Khan Sir's interim protection from arrest till June 30 in connection with the coaching institute firing case. The relief came after the investigating officer submitted an updated case diary before the court.
Khan Sir, whose real name is Faisal Khan, had earlier been granted protection from arrest on June 9 after he was named in an FIR linked to a firing incident outside his coaching institute in Patna. The case is being heard alongside proceedings involving his security guards, who are also accused in the matter.
According to Khan Sir's counsel, the court has directed that no coercive action be taken against him until the next hearing on June 30. The lawyer said arguments on the anticipatory bail plea are expected to be heard on the next date after the updated case diary was placed before the court.
The case stems from a June 2 incident in which Khan Sir's coaching institute was allegedly vandalised by a group of miscreants. Police later registered an FIR after videos surfaced purportedly showing security guards opening fire during the incident. The investigation into the matter is ongoing.
