Hindi Olympiad Foundation announces dates for the latest iteration of IHO & Amrit Kumbh Samman

The Hindi Olympiad Foundation (HOF) has officially released the schedule for the upcoming session of the International Hindi Olympiad (IHO) and the Amrit Kumbh Samman (AKS). These prestigious competitions, promoted by the Ministry of External Affairs, the Ministry of Defence and countless educational boards across the country, has grown into a significant global platform for the promotion of the Hindi language, aims to cultivate Hindi language excellence among students and recognize the contributions of educators worldwide.
Global Outreach and Academic Significance
The International Hindi Olympiad is designed to move beyond traditional classroom learning, offering students from Class 1 to 12 an opportunity to test their proficiency in Hindi grammar and literature on a competitive stage. The initiative is widely recognized for its role in strengthening the cultural and linguistic bond between Hindi-speaking communities across the globe.
Accompanying the student-centric IHO is the Amrit Kumbh Samman, a specialized category that honors teachers and principals for their dedication to Hindi. The foundation invites original, unpublished works from educators, including essays, poetry, memoirs, etc., fostering a creative ecosystem for the Hindi language.
Key Examination Schedule
To accommodate a diverse range of academic calendars, the Foundation has provided a phased examination schedule. Schools and teachers can select dates that best align with their academic commitments.
Offline examination dates are as follows (month-wise):-
- July: 28 & 31
- August: 18 & 31
- September: 10 & 25
- October: 14 & 28
- November: 13 & 30
Note for Schools: Educational institutions have the added flexibility to choose any date for conducting the examination at their own convenience between August and November.
Online examination dates are as follows: -

Registration and Participation Guidelines
The registration process is now open for both national and international participants. The Hindi Olympiad Foundation emphasizes a strict timeline to ensure logistical efficiency:
- Deadline: The last date for registration is strictly 20 days prior to the opted date of examination.
- Mode of Exam: The competition is held in both online and offline formats, making it accessible to students in remote regions as well as those abroad.
- Eligibility: Students from Class 1 to 12 are eligible to participate. While the lower primary classes (1–2) typically engage in a single-phase evaluation, older students (Class 3–12) progress through school-level and international-level rounds.

Recognition and Awards
The Foundation has established a comprehensive rewards system to motivate participants. Top performers at the international and regional level are traditionally awarded cash prizes, trophies, and certificates of achievement whereas school level toppers receive medals at the school level alongside Certificate of excellence. Furthermore, all participants receive a certificate of participation, and teachers / principals with top poems, stories, essays, memoirs, etc are awarded the "Amrit Kumbh Samman".
The first round results will be generally announced in January next year, whereas the final and second round results will be announced in February or March.
