GDA conducts site inspection to explore connectivity between PWD guest house, Bhatia Mod and Thakurdwara flyover

A team comprising the Secretary of the Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA), the Officer-in-Charge of the Chief Engineer’s office, and other engineers conducted a site inspection on October 12, 2026, along with the Project Director, Deputy Manager, and engineers of the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) to assess the technical feasibility of the proposed traffic connectivity projects.
During the inspection, the team explored the possibility of widening the existing Thakurdwara Flyover to four lanes over a stretch of approximately one kilometre and connecting it to Bhatia Mod. Discussions were also held regarding the construction of an approximately three-kilometre-long elevated road from Bhatia Mod to the PWD Guest House.
Additionally, the proposal to develop connectivity towards Noida through a double-decker flyover beyond the Railway Overbridge (ROB), crossing over the Delhi–Meerut Expressway (DME), was discussed. The proposed infrastructure aims to alleviate traffic congestion near Lal Kuan and ensure smooth traffic movement in the region for the next 50 years.
To assess the technical feasibility of the proposed projects and examine issues such as utility shifting involving various departments, a meeting will soon be convened under the chairmanship of the Vice-Chairman, GDA, with representatives from NHAI, Electricity Department, UPSIDA, and other concerned departments. The meeting will focus on resolving the obstacles that may hinder flyover construction so that the project can commence at the earliest. Further action will be determined based on technical findings and coordination among concerned departments.
