Guv, CM pray for peace and prosperity of State on Ganesh Chaturthi
Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar and Chief Minister Hemant Soren have greeted citizens on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi praying for peace, prosperity, and the removal of obstacles. Ganesh Chaturthi is being celebrated with traditional fervour and tight security across Jharkhand, with state leaders extending warm greetings to the public.
“May Lord Shri Ganesh bestow happiness, peace, and prosperity in everyone’s life and remove all obstacles, making life auspicious,” Gangwar posted on X.
“Heartfelt greetings to everyone on the auspicious occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi—the festival dedicated to worshipping Lord Shri Ganesha, the remover of obstacles and the bestower of auspiciousness,” Jharkhand CM wrote on X.
Also, on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi, Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar performed the puja rituals according to traditional customs at Minister of State Defence Sanjay Seth residence. Extending his greetings and best wishes to the people on Ganesh Chaturthi, he said that the identity of our country lies in the fact that whenever we celebrate any festival, we pray for the welfare and prosperity of the entire nation. He also said that the festival is celebrated on a large scale in Maharashtra.
Union Minister of State for Defence Sanjay Seth, Ranchi Mayor Roshni Khalkho, and a large number of devotees were present on the occasion. The Ganpati worship festival, being held from September 14 to 20, attracts large crowds, with several programmes being organised during the celebrations.
The major puja committees started opening their pandals for devotees from Sunday evening. Various puja committees have come up with theme-based puja pandals.
The Gajraj Puja Mahasamiti at Kutchery Road which is organising Ganesh Puja for the 15th consecutive year this year has come up with a peacock theme based pandal. The five-day Ganesh Puja began on Monday morning with traditional worship rituals. The ceremony was conducted by priest Vinay Mishra.
During the puja, Gauri-Ganesha, Varuna, Surya, and the Navagrahas were worshipped according to traditional rituals. This year, the Mahasamiti has prepared a grand Ganesh Puja pandal inspired by ancient Indian traditions. The pandal is approximately 25 feet high and 25 feet wide.
Evening aarti and distribution of prasad will be held every day during the festival. This year, local residents will also participate in the bhajan group, adding to the devotional atmosphere.
Mahadev Puja Samiti is adding features beyond the traditional pandal setup. “We will have selfie stands around the pandal for visitors. The lighting will also follow a Maharashtrian theme, through which Ganpati Bappa will be depicted,” said Tushar Kumar, a member of the committee.The change in decor is also visible in the idols being commissioned. Sculptor Alik Paul said demand for Maharashtrian-style idols has risen.
