FBI adds Bishnoi gang member 'Kamal' to Most Wanted list

The FBI has placed Indian national Kamal on its Most Wanted list over his alleged involvement in the Lawrence Bishnoi Organised Crime Group, a transnational criminal network, the agency said on Thursday.
Kamal is wanted for his alleged role in a conspiracy to interfere with commerce by extortion. "This organization, The Lawrence Bishnoi Organized Crime Group, originated in the Punjab state of India and operated in the Central District of California and elsewhere," the FBI said.
A federal arrest warrant against Kamal was issued on July 1 by the US District Court, Central District of California, after he was charged with conspiracy to interfere with commerce by extortion.
"If you have any information concerning this case, please contact your local FBI office, the nearest American Embassy or Consulate, or you can submit a tip online at tips.fbi.gov," the FBI said.
The move is part of the FBI's broader crackdown on India-linked organised crime under "Operation Hard Ball," which has led to several arrests in recent months targeting operatives linked to the Bishnoi and Jaggu Bhagwanpuria gangs.
