Gen Dhiraj Seth Meets Indian Army Veterans From Nepal

Army Chief Gen Dhiraj Seth interacted with several Indian Army veterans in Pokhara, Nepal, reflecting the enduring bond of camaraderie and mutual respect between the force and the people of the Himalayan nation, officials said on Thursday.
These veterans had earlier served in the Indian Army and the interaction took place on Wednesday, a senior official said.
Gen Seth concluded his four-day official visit to Nepal on Wednesday during which he met the country’s top leadership and discussed ways to expand the bilateral defence cooperation.
“A Bond That Transcends Borders #GeneralDhirajSeth, #COAS, interacted with #IndianArmy #Veterans & #VeerNaris at Pokhara, Nepal, enquiring about their well-being and concerns.
“On the occasion, the #COAS felicitated veterans who had been conferred gallantry awards and presented mobility equipment to war-wounded veterans requiring mobility assistance. The #COAS also virtually inaugurated ECHS Polyclinic in Kohalpur, Nepal,” the Indian Army said in a post on X.
The interaction reflected the enduring bond of camaraderie and mutual respect between the Indian Army and the people of Nepal, forged through generations of shared service, sacrifice and an unbreakable spirit of friendship, it said.
Gen Seth, who arrived in Kathmandu on August 16, met Nepal President Ramchandra Paudel, Prime Minister and Defence Minister Balendra Shah and his Nepalese counterpart Gen Ashok Raj Sigdel.
“The visit helped strengthen the multifaceted India-Nepal relationship and deepen cooperation across various domains of defence and security,” the Indian Embassy in Kathmandu said on Wednesday.
Gen Seth was conferred the rank of Honorary General of the Nepali Army by President Paudel at a ceremony on Monday.
