DSC a engineered scam, alleges Jagan, demands CBI probe

YSRCP chief and former Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Monday launched a scathing attack on the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) Government, alleging that the so-called ‘Mega’ District Selection Committee (DSC) teacher recruitment process was a “carefully engineered policy sketch for a Mega scam.”
Demanding an independent inquiry by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), Jagan accused Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and his son, Education Minister Nara Lokesh, of directly orchestrating the multi-layered fraud to turn the recruitment of 16,000 teacher posts into a “money-spinning scam.”
In a statement, the Leader of the Opposition stated that institutional safeguards, which historically ensured confidentiality and transparency, were completely dismantled. “Andhra Pradesh has never witnessed such a disastrous recruitment process. The responsibilities of preparing question papers and conducting the examination, traditionally separated between the SCERT and the DSC Convenor, were merged under the Director of SCERT to pave the way for irregularities,” Jagan alleged.
He further pointed out that highly confidential tasks were entrusted to outsourced employees. Highlighting a specific case, the YSRCP chief noted that an outsourcing employee intimately involved in the question paper preparation secured the top rank. “Why was his data subsequently removed from the merit list, and why was he denied job verification? This is direct proof of a paper leak,” he claimed, adding that the individual has since approached the court.
The former Chief Minister also questioned the lack of transparency in the declaration of results. He pointed out that the traditional practice of displaying merit lists on the notice boards of District Collectors’ offices was scrapped in favour of a centralised online system, leaving lakhs of unemployed youth in anguish. He alleged that several candidates who received 1:1 call letters and underwent successful certificate verification were inexplicably omitted from the final selection list, violating Rule 20 of the Scheme of Selection Rules 2025.
Exposing an alleged backdoor entry mechanism, Jagan said the Government manipulated the sports quota policy. “Through a new policy, sports quota candidates were exempted from appearing for the written DSC examination for the first time in history. Once their favoured candidates were accommodated and the recruitment process concluded, the Government shamelessly reverted the policy to its original state, admitting it caused ‘difficulties’,”
he alleged.
Referring to a leaked video clip of an alleged job negotiation, he criticised the State police for filing a token First Information Report (FIR) and granting station bail to the accused without a proper investigation.
Asserting that State investigating agencies report directly to the “perpetrators” at the helm of the Government, he reiterated that only a CBI probe could unearth the depth of the scandal and deliver justice to the meritorious aspirants.
