DDA cuts flat prices

The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has decided to remove parking charges from the total flat price in its housing schemes. According to a recent order, it has directed that the total cost of construction of parking shall be included in the total expenditure incurred for construction of housing pockets for the purpose of calculating the Plinth Area Rate (PAR) of flats.
For example, the price of a high-end flat with 11 square metres of parking under the Karmayogi Housing Scheme could be reduced by around INR 10 lakh. MIG flats may become cheaper by INR 4 lakh to INR 5 lakh. Under the Towering Heights Karkardooma scheme, the reduction could be even higher due to larger parking spaces. These flats were priced between INR 1.78 crore and INR 3.09 crore, depending on the plinth area.
The order applies for all ongoing projects. All future housing schemes will also follow the pricing structure, the DDA order added.
The circular had also specified that "in case separate expenditure details wrt parking are furnished by the Engineering Wing. Otherwise, 60 per cent of PAR will be used for cost of construction of parking."
