Art has a unique ability to reach deep within us, stirring emotions, provoking thought and creating a connection with the world around us. In the Echoes of Elegance exhibition, this dynamic is brought to life through a collection of works that challenge, engage and captivate. Curated by Shekhar Jhamb, the exhibition brings together a range of India’s leading artists, each offering their own unique voice through various mediums. It is a show that not only highlights the diversity of the Indian art scene but also delves into the deeper connections between art, culture and identity.
One of the standout pieces in the exhibition is Trust Feat, an acrylic on canvas. The piece draws the viewer in with its vibrant colours and intricate patterns, evoking a sense of complexity that mirrors human relationships. It’s a work that encourages reflection, inviting the viewer to interpret its layers of meaning. Similarly, Keep ones end up, another acrylic on canvas, uses bold strokes and vivid hues to explore themes of balance and stability in an ever-changing world. The fluidity of the painting offers a sense of movement, making it feel as if the artwork is alive.
Parody II, a striking fiberglass piece, challenges the viewer’s perception with its playful yet thought-provoking commentary on modern life. The use of fiberglass in this piece gives it a dynamic quality, blurring the line between reality and illusion. It’s a work that not only entertains but also encourages a deeper contemplation of society and its contradictions.
Alongside these, the exhibition showcases a range of works by renowned artists such as Bose Krishnamachari, Dileep Sharma , Farhad Hussain, George Martin, Jyothiraj Moyampilly and Mukesh Sharma. Each of their pieces brings forth unique perspectives on culture, identity and contemporary issues. Whether it’s through abstract expressionism, surreal imagery or figurative forms, the diversity of styles on display ensures that there is something for everyone to connect with.
The exhibition invites viewers to move beyond admiring art from a distance, encouraging them to understand the creative process and engage with the ideas behind each piece.
Echoes of Elegance is a journey into the heart of Indian contemporary art. It’s an opportunity to witness the talent, vision and passion of some of the country’s finest artists, offering a deeper understanding of the dynamic and ever-evolving art scene.
