Sonu Nigam and Nikhil D’Souza to perform at XLRI MAXI Fair

The 45th edition of the iconic MAXI Fair, XLRI Jamshedpur’s flagship festival, is set to dazzle the city on January 18 and 19, 2025. Known for its unique blend of music, culture, and community engagement, the fair promises a weekend of electrifying performances, engaging activities, and a celebration of Jamshedpur’s vibrant spirit.  

This year’s event is particularly special as it marks 45 years of the MAXI Fair, a tradition that has grown from a local festival to a global model of experiential marketing and consumer engagement.  

Adding glamour and excitement to this year’s festivities are two renowned artists who will headline the event:  Nikhil D’Souza, celebrated for his soulful voice and captivating melodies, will open the fair on January 18 with a performance that promises to set the tone for an unforgettable weekend. Sonu Nigam, India’s legendary playback singer and music maestro, will close the event on January 19 with a spectacular performance, bringing the festival to a grand finale.  

Both concerts are scheduled to begin at 7 PM at the XLRI Grounds, offering music lovers an unparalleled experience.  

The MAXI Fair 2025 is not just about music. It features a diverse range of activities catering to audiences across all age groups: Art Attack: A platform for budding artists to showcase their talent.  Fancy Dress Competition: A fun-filled event featuring imaginative costumes.  
Mr. and Ms. Jamshedpur: A contest celebrating talent, confidence, and poise. Jamshedpur’s Favourite Family: Interactive games designed to strengthen family bonds. Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Jamshedpur: A stage for local singing talent to shine. MasterChef Jamshedpur: A culinary competition where aspiring chefs can showcase their skills.Dance Mania: High-energy dance performances to entertain the crowd.  

These events ensure that the MAXI Fair has something for everyone, creating an atmosphere of joy, togetherness, and shared experiences.  


The MAXI Fair was founded in 1976 by Prof. Sharad Sarin as a unique initiative to integrate consumer research with experiential marketing. Over the decades, it has evolved into a one-of-a-kind platform where corporate giants like Pepsi, ITC, and Brooke Bond have leveraged creative activities to gain valuable consumer insights.  

Organized by the Marketing Association of XLRI (MAXI), the fair has consistently pushed the boundaries of innovation, making it a global benchmark for combining entertainment with academic and corporate collaboration.  

As the MAXI Fair celebrates its 45th anniversary, it continues to be a symbol of Jamshedpur’s unity, culture, and heritage. With over 15,000 attendees every year, the event has become a cherished tradition, attracting people from all walks of life to come together in celebration.  

This year’s milestone edition is expected to be the biggest and best yet, offering unforgettable experiences and reinforcing the fair’s legacy as a hub of creativity, learning, and community engagement.
