Since its launch in January 2023, the Bhopal Mayor's Helpline has helped resolve over 136,000 complaints in its first two years, city officials said on Tuesday.
The helpline, an electoral promise of Mayor Malti Rai, has proved immensely successful in the redress of citizens' grievances.
Conducting a review of the initiative on Tuesday, Mayor Rai received updates from municipal officials and feedback from citizens whose complaints had been resolved. Many residents expressed appreciation for the prompt response to their complaints and thanked the Mayor and the Bhopal Municipal Corporation.
In December alone, 3,344 complaints were received, and 2,356 were resolved. Mayor Rai instructed officials to expedite the resolution of pending complaints, ensuring they are addressed within two days.
Rai reassured callers that their concerns would continue to be addressed promptly through the helpline.
