On the third day of the 68th National School Sports Competition, in the Under 19 Athletics category, Shivani Kumari of Jharkhand clinched a silver medal in the girls 400- meter hurdle race.
In the girls 400- meter hurdle race, Harshita Goswami of Delhi got the gold medal and Jyothika of Kerala got the bronze medal.
In the boys 500- meter race walk competition, Sachin Garhwal of Rajasthan won the gold medal followed by Mohammad Sultana of Kerala and Rohit Kumar of Rajasthan who got the silver and bronze medals respectively. Correspondingly, in the girls 300- meter race walk, Siya of Haryana clinched the gold while Raksha Prajapati of Kendriya Vidyalaya got the silver and Tamanna of Rajasthan got the bronze medal.
In the boys 300- meter race, Arjun of Haryana got the gold medal, Abhinandan Surya of Maharashtra got the silver medal and Rohit of Maharashtra got the bronze medal while in the girls 300- meter race, Pranathi of Karnataka got the gold, Muskan of Rajasthan got the silver and Sakshi Bhandari of Maharashtra got the bronze medal.
In the boys 400- meter hurdle race, Bhushan Sunil of Karnataka managed to get the gold medal while Mohammad Ashfaq of Kerala got the silver and Amit Kumar of Vidya Bharti won the bronze medal. In the girls 3- kg shotput competition Amrita of Maharashtra won the gold medal while Henin Elizabeth of Kerala got the silver and Anushree of Tamil Nadu got the bronze medal.
The cultural evening organised after the competition was coloured by Jharkhand's traditional Jhumar dance- a symbol of the State's rich cultural heritage and traditions. The venue was filled with the melodious tunes of musical instruments like Dhol, Nagada and Mandar. The presentations on patriotic songs by Agni Dance Group filled the atmosphere with the spirit of nationalism while Awadh and Anita Kumari charmed everyone with their melodious songs.
Ashish Purti of Jharkhand received the Best All Rounder Player award in the Under 14 Boys Hockey Competition organised in Bhopal. The semi-final match of this competition was played on Tuesday. The coach of Jharkhand Under 14 Hockey Team is Syed Mohammad Mashrur and the team manager is Rajan Gurung. Jharkhand's team secured the third spot in the semi-finals.
