Hry Excise & Taxation Department surpasses revenue target for FY 2024-25
Chandigarh: Haryana Excise and Taxation Department has achieved a significant milestone in revenue collection for the Financial Year 2024-25, surpassing its budget target. Against the allocated target of Rs 61,950 crore, the Department successfully collected Rs 63,371 crore, achieving 102.3 per cent of the set target. An official spokesperson said that SGST collections reached Rs 39,153 crore, exceeding the budget target of Rs 37,500 crore and registering an impressive 13.77 per cent growth over the previous year (excluding cess). Similarly, Excise Duty collections stood at Rs 12,701 crore, surpassing the budget target of Rs 12,650 crore and marking a 12 per cent increase from the previous year. Meanwhile, VAT and CST collections amounted to Rs 11,517 Cr, reflecting a 1.6 per cent increase over last year’s figures. This outstanding performance in revenue generation underscores the department’s commitment to efficient tax administration, policy reforms, and economic growth, he added.
6300 km of roads to be repaired in next 6 months: Hry Minister
Chandigarh: Haryana Public Health Engineering and Public Works Minister Ranbir Gangwa on Wednesday said the department has made a special plan for the repair of State's roads. Special action will be taken on this issue in the next 6 months and along with this, the network of roads in the state will be strengthened so that the public can travel better and easier. Talking to the media, Gangwa said an action plan has been made to repair about 6300 km of roads under the Public Works Department (PWD).
Cities to be developed at faster pace: Hry Minister
Chandigarh: Haryana Cabinet Minister Vipul Goel on Wednesday said the State Government is fully committed to the development of cities and development works will be done at a faster pace in the coming time. Chairing a joint meeting of all the newly elected councillors of Faridabad, Municipal Corporation officials and senior officials of the Electricity Department, he said that the objective of this meeting was to establish better coordination between all the departments and public representatives so that development works of the wards can be conducted smoothly and high-quality facilities can be provided to the citizens of Faridabad.
Power rates in Hry increased for domestic and industrial categories
Chandigarh: Haryana Electricity Regulatory Commission has announced the electricity tariff order for 2025-26, in which power rates in Haryana have increased for domestic and industrial categories ranging from 20 to 30 paise per kWh/kVAh over the previous year. According to the HERC's order released on late Tuesday, for domestic consumers, electricity rate hiked by 20 paise per kWh (kilowatt hours). In a slab of 0 to 50 units, the electricity rate has now been revised from Rs 2 per kWh to Rs 2.20 per kWh. Similarly, the hike was also seen in the 51-100 units slab in which the rate has been increased from Rs 2.50 per kWh to Rs 2.70 per kWh. It further stated that with consumers having consumption of more than 100 units per month, in the slab of 0-150 units, the rate has been revised from Rs 2.75 per kWh to Rs 2.95.
Hry Health Minister meets PM Modi
Chandigarh: Haryana Health Minister Arti Singh Rao on Wednesday met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi and discussed health projects in Haryana. Rao said that she requested Prime Minister Modi for cooperation in increasing health facilities in the state. She informed the Prime Minister that in the year 2015, when he started the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao campaign from Panipat, at that time the sex ratio in Haryana was only 871 girls as compared to 1000 boys, but thanks to the Prime Minister's call and the efforts of the Haryana Government, now this sex ratio has reached 910. Now, the state government is making dedicated efforts to equalize this ratio.
