Each face of Kejriwal is worse than previous one: BJP’s new video poster

Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva on Tuesday unveiled a video poster prepared by the BJP’s social media department, showcasing Arvind Kejriwal’s nine changing faces. He said each face of Kejriwal is worse than the previous one. The BJP also slammed Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal, calling him a “chunavi Hindu” after his promise of Rs 18,000 monthly salary to temple priests and gurdwara granthis ahead of the Delhi assembly election.

The video, conceptualized by Rohit Upadhyay of the BJP social media team, exposes Kejriwal’s opportunistic ideology and raises awareness among the public, according to the party in a news conference.

Media head Praveen Shankar Kapoor, who conducted the press conference, compared Kejriwal’s constantly shifting personas to the film Naya Din Nai Raat, in which actor Sanjeev Kumar portrays multiple roles to suit various situations.

Sachdeva highlighted how the video exposed Kejriwal’s opportunistic stance on religion, revealing his fake attempts to glorify Hinduism during elections.

The Delhi BJP President accused Kejriwal of hypocrisy, stating, “A person who questions the existence of Lord Ram can never be a true proponent of Hindu nationalism. He is built on lies, deceit, and manipulation.”

While bidding farewell to 2024, Sachdeva stated that Delhiites too have decided to oust an opportunistic ‘electoral Hindu’ from power corridor of Delhi.

Playing nine video clips of Kejriwal, the BJP demonstrated instances where he insulted Lord Ram, desecrated the Swastika, mocked deities, and disrespected Lord Krishna’s Sudarshan. The two-and-a-half-minute video displayed the vile mindset of Kejriwal and his team. As elections draw closer, Kejriwal suddenly remembers temple priests, said Sachdeva, adding, “But Delhi residents understand that Kejriwal represents lies.”

Comparing Kejriwal’s behavior to a scene in film Bhool Bhulaiyaa, Sachdeva said, “In the movie, one character runs from water. Similarly, mention water in front of Kejriwal, and he shirks moral responsibilities, as he remembers how 21,000 people died from drinking contaminated water in 2023-24, along with 62 deaths due to waterlogging.”

The BJP President further stated, “Kejriwal has repeatedly dishonored the Hindu community, glorified anti-national elements, and is not only an enemy of Sanatan Dharma but also of the nation’s security. Expecting Delhi’s prosperity under him is futile.”

Referring to Kejriwal’s announced visit to Connaught Place Hanuman Mandir which did not happen, Sachdeva claimed that upon learning of priests’ protests there, Kejriwal discreetly went to another Hanuman temple, which he had previously ignored. Sachdeva said Delhi's temple priests are well aware that the BJP is their own pious party, always standing by them in times of joy and sorrow, and it is the only party that will respect them and their families.

Taking to social media platform X, the Delhi BJP shared a poster describing Kejriwal as a "Chunvai Hindu" (who remembers Hinduism only prior to polls).

The image showed Arvind Kejriwal draped in rudraksha beads, flower garlands, and vermilion, with incense sticks tucked behind his ear. The BJP poster displayed a mocking verse, saying, “Mandir jana hai bas mere liye ek chalaava, pujariyon ka samman bas mera chunavi dikhava, sanatan dharma ka maine hamesha mazak banaya (going to temples is just a façade for me, respect for priests is merely an electoral gimmick, I have always ridiculed Sanatan Dharma).”

The Delhi BJP's poster comes just a day after Kejriwal launched the 'Pujari Granthi Samman Yojana, which offers the Hindu and Sikh priests a monthly honorarium of Rs 18,000. The BJP raised questions about Kejriwal’s previous record on religious matters. “The man who has been busy providing salaries to imams for the past 10 years; who opposed the construction of the Ram temple in Ayodhya; who opened liquor shops near temples and gurdwaras; and who practices anti-Hindu politics -  has suddenly started showing concern for priests and granthis,” the party said in a tweet.

Delhi Congress president Devender Yadav also weighed in, accusing Kejriwal of using “desperate attempts to shine his tainted image” ahead of elections. “These announcements are nothing but trickery to influence voters,”

Yadav said, echoing the BJP’s claims that the proposal was an attempt to win Hindu votes by appealing to religious sentiments.
