In a large-scale anti-encroachment drive on Saturday, the Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC) removed unauthorized structures and seized eight truckloads of goods, including sand, gravel, and other items.
The operation, carried out by the BMC anti-encroachment squad in coordination with the district administration and the building permission department, focused on the Karond area in Ward No. 75. Illegal roads and boundary walls in unauthorized colonies were demolished using JCB machines. District officials and local police were present to ensure the success of the operation.
The team also targeted the Bittan Market and Manisha Market areas, demolishing 18 sheds and seizing carts from vendors near Shahpura Lake and Campion School. Additionally, five illegally constructed shops near Bansal Hospital were demolished.
