In a significant breakthrough, security forces recovered an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) during an ongoing anti-Naxal operation in Jharkhand. The operation, led by a joint team comprising Jharkhand Police, CRPF, and COBRA battalions, has been actively targeting Naxal-affected regions to ensure security in the area.
During the operation, an IED weighing approximately 5 kg was discovered, which had been previously planted by Naxal groups to target security personnel. The bomb disposal squad immediately neutralized the explosive on-site, preventing any potential casualties.
Security forces have been actively engaged in counter-insurgency measures in the region, deploying personnel from multiple battalions, including COBRA 203 BN, 209 BN, and CRPF 26 BN, 60 BN, 134 BN, 174 BN, 193 BN, and 197 BN. The operation is part of a larger initiative to dismantle Naxal influence and ensure peace in the affected regions.
Officials have assured that the search operation will continue, with heightened surveillance and security measures in place. The recovery of the IED underscores the persistent threat posed by Naxal groups and the determination of security forces to eliminate any potential dangers.
According to official reports, a special coordinated operation was launched on March 4, 2025, in the border areas of Tokanagar and Jaridihsil under the jurisdiction of local police stations. The security forces, acting on intelligence inputs, intensified combing operations in the dense forest region of Rutakewati.
