SSC CGL 2024 Final Result: How Scores Are Normalized And Calculated

Numerous candidates in the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) Combined Graduate Level (CGL) exam experience confusion regarding the normalisation process since they doubt its ability to fairly evaluate their performance. This method used to balance scores between different shifts with varying difficulty levels creates unexpected changes in candidate assessment results.

The basis of normalisation stays true to the assumption that participant abilities spread evenly across all shifts. The examination shift randomization and the numerous candidate pool establish the validity of this hypothesis. Through statistical calculation the SSC develops a score equilibrium method regarding difficulty levels while performing calculations to five decimal places.

SSC CGL 2024 exam final result became available on March 12, 2025 at ssc.gov.in where candidates can find it while category-wise cut-off marks display 18,174 provisionally selected candidates for appointments.

When there are equal scores in the Tier 2 exam, the following tie-breaking rules are applied in sequence:

a) Marks in Paper-II of Tier 2 for Junior Statistical Officer (JSO) / Statistical Investigator Grade-II posts, if any.

b) Marks in Section-I of Paper-I of Tier 2.

c) Date of birth, with senior candidates being placed higher.

d) Alphabetical order of names of candidates.

The computer-based SSC CGL Tier 1 examination took place between 9 September 2024 and 26 September 2024 until December 5 of the same year. The selected candidates from the first phase appeared for Tier 2 between January 18th to 20th 2025 and January 31st 2025 served as an added assessment date.
