Under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the Akhara area at Mahakumbh 2025 is a sight to behold. Camps for various organisations, including the Akharas, Khak Chowk, Dandiwada, Acharyawada, and Prayagwal, are fully set up and adorned with vibrant decorations.
While the camps are beautifully designed as always, this year, the entry gates are stealing the spotlight with their unique and thematic designs. Themed entry gates across the Mela area go beyond being visually stunning, serving as markers of identity, helping pilgrims locate and reach specific organisations.
CM Yogi Adityanath's vision of making Mahakumbh more grand and divine than ever is clearly visible in the Akhara area. Various Akharas and organizations have not only enriched their camps spiritually, but have also designed their entry gates with distinctive themes.
Located near Jhunsi, these gates come in various designs, including airplane models, Shivlings, and crowns, enhancing the overall grandeur of the camps. The artisans behind these gates have come from all across India, including Kolkata, Varanasi, and South India.
According to the artists, it took them 10 to 15 days to construct these gates, with costs running into lakhs of rupees. These gates serve a dual purpose: they enhance the aesthetic appeal of the camps and act as identifiers, helping pilgrims locate specific camps in the sprawling Mela area.
